WHAT YOU'LL DO
OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project.
-
Sourcing the materials to be used in the project.
-
Measuring and cutting materials to specifications.
-
Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together.
-
Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Expertly welds small, medium, and large projects of various metals and alloys.
-
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
-
Performs complex mechanical installations per engineering direction.
-
Reads and comprehends construction drawings, blueprints and specifications.
-
Take and or read measurements to plan layout and procedures in compliance with construction drawings and specifications.

Set up components for welding equipment or method based on requirements.
-
Works in conjunction with other crews and lead persons.

Maintains responsibility for all tools and equipment assigned to the team.

Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
-
Align components using calipers, rulers, jigs etc., and clamp pieces.
-
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions, vertical, horizontal or overhead.

Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
WHO YOU ARE
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project.

Sourcing the materials to be used in the project.

Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together.

Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.

Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.

Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work and progress, and track procurements and status.

Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety.

Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.

Proven experience as a welder.
-
Experience using a variety of welding. equipment and procedures, TIG, MMA etc.
-
Experience in using electrical or manual tools, saw, squares, calipers, etc.
-
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
-
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing, face shield, gloves, etc.

Deftness and attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
-
Graduation from high school, military schools, vocational school, recognized craftsman apprenticeship program or equivalent.
-
At least five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in a combination of two or more skilled trades including knowledge of and ability to use tools materials and methods.

Current welding certifications (Recently expired certifications may be acceptable contingent upon the ability to successfully requalify prior to employment.)

OSHA 10-hour safety course would be a plus.

Professional Certification an AWS certificate will be a plus.

MIG welding: 1 Year Preferred
